This tour concentrates on Victoria and South Australia, regions that are well known for their abundant wildlife, beautiful beaches, sophisticated dining and shopping opportunities, and outstanding regional wines.

Melbourne and Great Ocean Road

  • Begin with several days in the lively city of Melbourne, with the sophisticated Park Hyatt Melbourne as a base.

  • Spend days with private touring of the city and the surrounding region.

  • Visit Melbourne's highlights: Federation Square, the excellent Aboriginal art collection at the National Gallery of Victoria, the Queen Victoria Market, the Royal Botanic Gardens, and fashionable neighborhoods such as South Yarra and Southgate.

  • Take an excursion to Phillip Island to watch the thousands of fairy penguins that come ashore during sunset.

  • Spend a day driving along the Great Ocean Road — one of the world's most scenic coastal drives.
Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, and Barossa Valley
  • Fly to Adelaide, an elegant city known for its fine food, parks, antique shops, and heritage architecture.

  • Visit the National Wine Centre, the Central Market, and noted Aboriginal art galleries.

  • Travel to Kangaroo Island for a full-day 4WD tour with a naturalist guide.

  • View spectacular rock formations and beautiful beaches.

  • Witness the island's abundant native wildlife: kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, fairy penguins, and platypus.

  • Another day will be spent exploring the Barossa Valley — perhaps Australia's premier wine region.

  • During your 'insiders' tour, visit small wineries, sample superb cheeses, and stroll through local towns known for their small shops specializing in crafts made by the locals.
