Japan

• Begin by visiting Tokyo's fashionable neighborhoods and important cultural sights.
  
  
• Continue to the Mt. Fuji region for an overnight stay at the Gora Kadan -- Japan's most decadent traditional inn (ryokan).
  
  
• After a night enjoying gourmet kaiseki cuisine and natural outdoor hot springs, continue via bullet train to the ancient city of Kyoto.
  
  
• For one morning, permission will be arranged for you to tour Katsura Imperial Villa -- considered by many to be the quintessential example of Japanese architecture and garden design.
  
  
• Delight in a Zen-style lunch, followed by ceremonial green tea overlooking a bamboo forest, in the Arashiyama district.
  
  
• Spend another day visiting some of Kyoto's elegant gardens, important temples and shrines, local specialty shops and food markets, and residential districts.

• Next, fly to Beijing, where you'll enjoy several days of exploring this fascinating, historical city that is now also home to upscale restaurants and shopping districts.
  
  
• Take an excursion to a remote section of the Great Wall.
  
  
• Fly to Xian for a day spent visiting the famed Terracotta Soldiers and the superb Shaanxi Provincial Museum.
  
  
• Continue to Guilin, to view China's most breathtaking scenery as your cruise the Li River, followed by several hours spent visiting local villages in Yangshuo.
  
  
• Wrap up your East Asia journey in Shanghai, one of the world's most exciting and legendary cities, where you'll enjoy exceptional dining, shopping, and sightseeing.

Day 01	Arrive Tokyo, JAPAN Arrival transfer to Four Seasons Marunouchi for 2 nights.
Day 02	Tokyo Half-day private tour of Harajuku, Aoyama, Ginza. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 03	Tokyo - Hakone Transfer to Hakone to the Gora Kadan Ryokan for overnight. Afternoon at leisure at Gora Kadan or free to visit Mt. Fuji and tour Hakone. Evening kaiseki dinner at ryokan. (B,D)
Day 04	Hakone - Kyoto First-class bullet train to Kyoto to Westin Miyako (deluxe room) for 2 nights. Afternoon private touring in Kyoto to several temples and Gion District. (B)
Day 05	Kyoto Private tour in Kyoto, including private gardens, local markets, favorite temples and shrines. (B)
Day 06	Kyoto - Beijing, CHINA Transfer to Kansai International Airport for flight (not included in tour cost) to Beijing, China. Arrival transfer to Grand Hyatt Beijing for 3 nights. Begin city touring this afternoon. (B)
Day 07	Beijing Continue private touring of Summer Palace, temples, hutongs, food markets, antique districts. (B)
Day 08	Great Wall Private excursion to remote section of Great Wall. Afternoon at leisure in Beijing. (B)
Day 09	Beijing - Xian Morning flight to Xian and overnight at Hyatt Regency. Visit Terracotta Soldiers, city landmarks, local markets. (B,D)
Day 10	Xian - Guilin Morning visit to Shaanxi Provincial Museum, afternoon flight to Guilin for two nights. (B)
Day 11	Yangshuo excursion Morning Li River Cruise to Yangshuo. Afternoon private touring to villages in Yangshuo. (B)
Day 12	Guilin - Shanghai Flight to Shanghai for two nights at the Four Seasons Shanghai. (B)
Day 13	Shanghai City touring in Shanghai. (B)
