Japan
- Begin by visiting Tokyo's fashionable neighborhoods and important
cultural sights.
- Continue to the Mt. Fuji region for an overnight stay at the Gora
Kadan -- Japan's most decadent traditional inn (ryokan).
- After a night enjoying gourmet kaiseki cuisine and natural outdoor
hot springs, continue via bullet train to the ancient city of Kyoto.
- For one morning, permission will be arranged for you to tour Katsura
Imperial Villa -- considered by many to be the quintessential example
of Japanese architecture and garden design.
- Delight in a Zen-style lunch, followed by ceremonial green tea overlooking
a bamboo forest, in the Arashiyama district.
- Spend another day visiting some of Kyoto's elegant gardens, important
temples and shrines, local specialty shops and food markets, and residential
districts.
China
- Next, fly to Beijing, where you'll enjoy several days of exploring
this fascinating, historical city that is now also home to upscale restaurants
and shopping districts.
- Take an excursion to a remote section of the Great Wall.
- Fly to Xian for a day spent visiting the famed Terracotta Soldiers
and the superb Shaanxi Provincial Museum.
- Continue to Guilin, to view China's most breathtaking scenery as
your cruise the Li River, followed by several hours spent visiting local
villages in Yangshuo.
- Wrap up your East Asia journey in Shanghai, one of the world's most
exciting and legendary cities, where you'll enjoy exceptional dining,
shopping, and sightseeing.
