This tour visits Japan's two most popular cities: Tokyo and Kyoto; it also includes two wonderful destinations that offer a glimpse of a more rural side of life in Japan: the mountain town of Takayama, and the wealthy feudal town of Kanazawa.

This tour is designed for independent travelers who do not require any guided touring in Japan.

• Spend your days freely exploring the highlights of Tokyo, Takayama, Kanazawa, and Kyoto at your own pace.

• Private or coach sightseeing can be incorporated into this tour, upon request and for additional cost.

Day 04	Tokyo - Takayama Self transfer to train station for trains to mountain town of Takayama. Self transfer to ryokan for 2 nights. Dinner at ryokan. (B,D)

Day 06	Takayama - Kanazawa Self transfer to station for train to Kanazawa to Hotel Nikko Kanazawa for 2 nights. (B)

Day 08	Kanazawa - Kyoto Self transfer to station for train to Kyoto to hotel for 4 nights. (B)
Days 09, 10, 11	Kyoto Free days for independent exploration of Kyoto, Nara, Miho Museum, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Kyoto suburbs. (B)
Day 12	Kyoto - Tokyo Self transfer to station for bullet train to Tokyo. Self transfer to Tokyo hotel for 2 nights. (B)
