This private tour of France combines the timeless sophistication and luxury of Paris with the fantastic food, wine and countrysides of Burgundy and Champagne.

Begin with two nights in Paris. With your own private guide, enjoy the very best of Paris according to your interests. First-time visitors may wish to tour major attractions such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Sainte-Chapelle, the Eiffel Tower, the Luxembourg and Tuileries Gardens, and major museums such as the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. Other possibilities include an epicurean tour of specialty chocolate shops, fromagerie (cheese shops), copperware stores and tea sellers; walking tours through the exclusive residential streets on Ile St-Louis, the old Jewish quarter in the Marais, the former art colony of Montmartre, the medieval streets of the Latin Quarter, or to Left Bank cafes made famous by poets and philosophers; and shopping for antiques in flea markets or haute couture in fashionable boutiques.

Next, take the TGV high-speed train to Burgundy (Bourgogne) for a two-night stay at a castle hotel in the countryside. With your private driver-guide, tour the Burgundy wine region, explore the beautiful Cote d'Or vineyards, learn about Burgundy’s unique terroir, and visit local cellars to sample top-quality wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. One day, tour the historic center of Dijon, a city famous for delicious mustard and fine architecture. Also explore the well-preserved medieval center of Beaune—considered the capital of the Burgundy wine region—and perhaps purchase renowned local wines such as Chambertin, Romanee-Conti and Montrachet. Throughout touring in Burgundy, see a variety of structures and landscapes that together comprise a UNESCO World Heritage Site related to the history of wine production in the region.

Next, visit the Champagne wine region and spend two nights at Les Crayeres, a magnificent manor surrounded by parkland. One afternoon, enjoy a tour of Reims, an ancient city with Roman roots, with your private guide. Visit highlights such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic Art and a UNESCO World Heritage Site where 25 French kings and queens had their coronations. Also, see Art Deco architecture and browse specialty shops selling chocolates and biscuits roses de Reims, the town's famous pink cookies. The next day, drive through vineyards along the Route du Champagne, stopping to visit the most interesting wine cellars and sample top local vintages.

Return to Paris for last-minute shopping, dining, and free time to enjoy the city.
