This private tour of Peru features the top cultural attractions, spectacular landscapes, and activities personalized to your interests. It includes private touring with your own guide and driver and accommodation in Peru’s best hotels and lodges.

Begin in Lima, the cosmopolitan capital of Peru. Enjoy touring personalized to your interests, such as an insider tour of the historic district, a visit to a spectacular pre-Colombian art collection, browsing boutiques and art galleries, or exploring the city’s food markets.

Next, fly to Cusco, and transfer through the beautiful countryside to the Sacred Valley of the Incas (Urubamba Valley), a river valley with the high peaks of the Andes towering overhead. During private touring with your own guide and driver, experience the best of the local culture, such as visits to indigenous markets and villages, meetings with renowned local weavers, and tours of outstanding archaeological sites such as Ollantaytambo. Other activities that can be arranged upon request include day treks, rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking and a private cooking lesson.

Continue to Machu Picchu and spend one night near the ruins. Your private guide will teach you about the fascinating history of the site and ensure that you have the opportunity to explore the grounds after most tourists have left. Spend the following day exploring the ruins with the option to hike trails to stunning viewpoints around the site before continuing to Cusco on the luxury Hiram Bingham train.

Continue to beautiful Cusco aboard the luxury Hiram Bingham train, and stay in an oxygenated room at one of the city’s finest and most historic hotels. During private touring with your guide, walk through Cusco’s narrow streets and learn about the city’s Inca and Spanish history. Also visit markets, galleries, boutiques and the best artisan workshops. Time permitting, perhaps opt to see important archaeological sites on the outskirts of the city, such as Sacsayhuaman. In the evenings, enjoy dining reservations at Cusco’s top restaurants. Additional activities can also be arranged upon request, such as a meeting with a local art expert or an evening cultural performance.

Next, fly to Arequipa, an attractive colonial city in the shadow of several volcanoes. Enjoy a private walking tour of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dubbed the White City for the pale volcanic stone used in the colonial-era buildings, and see interesting attractions such as the Monasterio de Santa Catalina.

Continue to rugged Colca Canyon, passing through a spectacular high desert landscape of active volcanoes and wild vicuna en route. Spend three nights at a luxury lodge with expansive grounds and abundant activity options. With your private guide, explore the ancient villages, terraced farmland and unique cultural history of the region. One day, see wild condors soaring through Colca Canyon, one of the deepest chasms in the world. Other optional activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, garden tours, cooking classes and feeding baby alpacas. Or, simply relax in the Jacuzzi on the back terrace of your private bungalow.

On your final day, fly back to Lima to connect with your onward flight.
