Iconic image: Karst peaks along the Li River in China
The spectacular karst formations along the Li River in southern China constitute one of the country’s most iconic landscapes. Mists swirl around the craggy, foliage-covered hills as they rise out of rice paddies and tea plantations, recreating Chinese ink paintings in three dimensions.
Artisans of Leisure arranges day cruises on the Li River from the city of Guilin to the village of Yangshuo, giving ample opportunities to admire the spectacular formations of this UNESCO World Heritage Site along the way. We also offer our travelers scenic drives and easy bike rides through the region.
Guilin, Yangshuo and the Li River are featured in many of our private China tours, including Discover China and Highlights of China & Hong Kong.
