Just Back: The Highlights of Japan
We just returned from Japan, one of our favorite travel destinations due to its incredible traditional and contemporary cultural touring, wonderful cuisine, spectacular landscapes, and luxurious hotels and ryokan (traditional inns).
Many of our travelers feel the same way and return to Japan with Artisans of Leisure year after year.
Highlights from our recent trip included:
Visiting Naoshima, the renowned art and architecture island, including a stay at Benesse House
Staying at luxury ryokan to experience hot springs, kaiseki meals and Japanese hospitality
Exploring Kyoto’s temples, shrines, gardens and traditional culture
Meeting local experts including a tea expert, master artisans and sumo wrestlers
Staying at ultra-luxury hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto
Visiting museums and iconic design sites, old and new
Shopping for local crafts, housewares and other specialty items
Savoring Japan’s incredible culinary heritage
Seeing beautiful landscapes and notable sites in rural Japan
Exploring favorite urban neighborhoods with local insiders
It was an incredible trip and we can’t wait to return!
