Active & Culture Tour of Spain

(11 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Costa Brava, Barcelona, Mallorca

This private tour is perfect for travelers interested in a more active vacation. It offers an ideal combination of touring Barcelona’s most interesting and important cultural sites and opportunities for hiking, biking, other active pursuits in some of Spain’s most stunning landscapes and resort destinations.

Start on the Costa Brava, a beautiful region on the rugged Mediterranean coast that showcases the best in Catalonia’s unique culture, cuisine and architecture. Spend three nights at Mas de Torrent, a traditional stone masia (Catalan country house) converted into a Relais & Chateaux hotel and spa. Take a biking excursion along the coast one day, and also enjoy free time to explore nearby villages and beaches or simply relax at the hotel’s spa.

Continue to Barcelona, one of Europe's most dynamic centers of modern design and cutting-edge cuisine. There, enjoy comprehensive private touring that is personalized to your interests. Discover Gaudi’s fantastical structures such as Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, Casa Batllo or the hillside Parc Guell. Visit some of the city’s excellent museums, such as the Picasso Museum or Miro Museum. Stroll along Las Ramblas—Barcelona’s most famous boulevard—and explore the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter and La Ribera. If desired, explore the city’s shopping districts, stopping at upscale boutiques along the broad Passeig de Gracia and design shops in the stylish Born and Raval neighborhoods. Also visit the city’s leading food markets, including the Santa Caterina Market and La Boqueria Market. One day, also enjoy hiking around nearby Montserrat, a beautiful mountain studded with interesting religious and historical sights. Upon request, Artisans of Leisure can also arrange a wide range of other activities in Barcelona, such as cooking lessons, private yacht charters, Jewish touring, tickets to soccer matches, hiking or biking in the nearby mountains, visiting favorite family attractions such as the Magic Fountain or Poble Espanyol, and wine tasting in the Penedes wine region.

Next, fly to the beautiful island of Mallorca and spend several days at a luxury resort overlooking the blue Mediterranean. Tour the island to see orange and olive groves and ancient villages, and take a hiking or biking excursion through the countryside. There will also be ample time to enjoy the resort’s extensive leisure facilities. Other activities, such as hot air ballooning or sailing can also be arranged, upon request.
