Begin with four nights in Lucerne, a picture-perfect Swiss town on the shore of Lake Lucerne. During flexible private touring with your own guide, explore the highlights of the Old Town according to your interests. Cross the landmark Chapel Bridge, a covered wooden bridge containing paintings of the city history, and walk the cobblestone streets to see Lucerne’s tiny squares and painted facades. Learn about the city’s history at the Musegg Wall, a portion of the old city walls, and walk along the tree-lined waterfront.

One day, enjoy a privately guided excursion to Mount Pilatus. Begin by cruising on beautiful Lake Lucerne with the Lake Lucerne Navigation Company, passing waterfront farmhouses clustered below high peaks.

Then, ride a cog railway up the steep slopes of Mount Pilatus for panoramic views over the lake and mountains. Perhaps opt for a lunch of Swiss cuisine at a restaurant on the mountain, take a toboggan run, or hike among the rocky outcrops in the fresh mountain air.

Another day, take a privately guided excursion to Mount Rigi, the Queen of the Mountains immortalized by painter J.M.W. Turner and writer Mark Twain. Travel across Lake Lucerne, and then board a mountain railway to pass through fields and forests to reach the top of Mount Rigi for postcard views over the lake to the city of Lucerne.

Back in Lucerne, experience the past, present and future of transportation at the Swiss Museum of Transport. Next, you will be transferred around Lake Lucerne and through dramatic Schollenen Gorge with views of the legendary Devil’s Bridge to Andermatt for a two-night stay.
