Paris, one of Europe's most satisfying cities, is also a great gateway to Morocco. Experience the best of both destinations on this private luxury tour.
Begin in Paris. With your own private guide and driver—sophisticated experts who will share the very best of Paris with you—explore Paris according to your interests. Tour the city's most interesting neighborhoods, markets, boutiques, specialty food shops, gardens, museums and other cultural attractions. A few of our favorites: Walk among centuries-old mansions on exclusive Ile Saint-Louis. See the stained glass windows of exquisite Sainte-Chapelle, and see iconic Notre Dame. Visit the backstreets of Montmartre. Climb the steps to the Sacre Coeur Basilica for panoramic views. Explore Le Marais, whose private homes once belonged to kings, noblemen and courtesans. Wander the old Jewish quarter to the Place des Vosges, the city's oldest and one of its most beautiful squares. See the art treasures of museums such as the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, l'Orangerie, Centre Pompidou, Fondation Louis Vuitton and other major museums. Or visit smaller specialty museums off the beaten track. If desired, enjoy reservations at one of the restaurants atop the Eiffel Tower. Stroll the Latin Quarter, and relax in the Luxembourg Gardens. Shop exclusive boutiques along Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and Rue Royale. Take a break at Left Bank cafes made famous by poets and philosophers, and stop in the church of Saint-Germain-des-Pres. Upon request, Artisans of Leisure can arrange personalized shopping (antiques, flea markets, haute couture, tea, copperware and cooking utensils, chocolate, fashion and more). Perhaps spend hours enjoying a degustation gastronomique at a leading restaurant. Before heading to Morocco, we recommend visiting Institut du Monde Arabe (Arab World Institute) to view its collections, exhibitions, and landmark building—the windows have metal shutters that open and close like camera irises—designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. The Institute sits just across the Seine from the Ile St-Louis.
Next, fly to Casablanca and begin a classic tour of Morocco. Take a brief tour of Casablanca, then drive to the Atlas Mountains for two nights at Kasbah Tamadot, one of Morocco's most acclaimed luxury retreats, best known for its traditional Moroccan design and stunning infinity pool overlooking the spectacular mountain views. While there, enjoy private touring to local villages and Berber markets.
Continue to Marrakesh, an ancient city of orange groves and weathered pink buildings at the base of the Atlas Mountains. During private touring, visit fascinating local souks (markets) selling carpets, ceramics, metalware, textiles and other traditional products. Visit the Djemaa el-Fna, a carnivalesque public square where water sellers, snake charmers, magicians and storytellers compete for an audience. See the most interesting palaces, gardens and museums, such as the Jardin Majorelle, stunning gardens created by French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s; the Palais de la Bahia; the Dar Si Said Museum of Moroccan Arts; the Palmeraie; and the Jardin Menara, a beautiful garden with reflecting pools surrounded by groves of olive trees. One evening, enjoy an exclusive excursion into the nearby Agafay Desert for a sunset camel ride, traditional Berber entertainment, and a private candlelit dinner under the stars. Also, browse the city's stylish shops and galleries, and dine in gourmet restaurants that are putting Marrakesh on the culinary map.
