Begin in Fukuoka, the most populous city on the island of Kyushu. During private touring, visit cultural highlights such as the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, beautiful Ohori Park, and interesting local temples and shrines. Also enjoy time to independently explore Fukuoka's famous yatai (food stalls) and perhaps sample Hakata ramen and other favorite local dishes.

Next, enjoy a four-day rail journey around the island of Kyushu aboard the luxurious Seven Stars in Kyushu train, which is known for excellent cuisine and beautiful interiors that showcase fine Japanese craftsmanship. During train-based touring, explore Mount Aso, an active volcano surrounded by a massive caldera, and visit Beppu, one of Japan’s most famous onsen (hot springs) towns to see geothermal pools, crafts workshops and other attractions. Stay two nights on board the train and one night in a luxury ryokan. Enjoy views of the scenery while traveling by train on routes such as the Hisatsu Orange Railway line, which passes through citrus groves along the beautiful west coast of Kyushu. Meals aboard the Seven Stars train feature Kyushu’s finest regional ingredients, including fresh vegetables and seafood, prepared by some of the island’s best chefs.
